Leadership Grounded In Service

The District's choices now will shape desert healthcare for a generation. Anyse Smith is working to make sure those choices bring better care to every part of Zone 5.

Appointed by a unanimous vote.

Running to earn yours in November.

The Desert Healthcare District is stepping into the most important role in its history. It is no longer only funding care. It is working to strengthen the entire regional health system across the Coachella Valley and beyond. The choices made now will shape healthcare in the desert for a generation.

I am truly honored to have been unanimously appointed to this seat, and I am proud to represent the more than 60,000 residents of Zone 5 across Palm Desert and parts of La Quinta, Bermuda Dunes, and North Indio.

I am grateful to have the trust of the nurses and healthcare professionals who see what is at stake every day. They understand this work better than anyone, and their support is what powers this campaign.

For more than a decade, I have worked in this Valley's courtrooms, clinics, shelters, and recovery programs, often for the people our system leaves behind. I believe access to healthcare is something every one of us deserves no matter where we live. This belief keeps equity at the center of every decision I make.

My focus is straightforward. Bring more providers to the desert, support the workforce already here, and build the capacity of the institutions our communities depend on.

Now I am asking for your vote in November. I cannot do it without you.

I am proud to be endorsed by nurses and healthcare workers, not corporations.

Anyse’s Priorities

More providers. A supported workforce. Stronger institutions.

Healthcare in the desert should work for everyone who lives here. These three priorities came directly out of the District’s own community listening sessions, and they are what Anyse will lead with on the board.

  • Bring more providers to the desert

Doctors, nurses, specialists, and behavioral health professionals who speak our languages.

  • Support the providers already here

Ease the burnout driving them out, with real staffing, mental health support, and fair conditions.

  • Build institutional capacity

Strengthen the clinics, mobile units, telehealth, and community sites the Valley depends on.

Keep this moment moving forward.

This campaign is powered by neighbors and community members.

Your contribution helps make sure the Valley's healthcare future stays in the hands of someone who answers to residents — and who's already doing the work.
